The Nest "Family Test"
At Nest Homecare, we believe care should be the kind we would want for our own Mum or Dad — nothing less.
That’s why we created the "Nest Family Test"....before we even hire a Carer, we ask ourselves: “Would I trust this person to care for someone I love?” If the answer isn’t a DEFINITE yes, we don’t go ahead. Because care isn’t just about tasks — it’s about trust, time, and thoughtful connection.
But our Family Test doesn’t stop there.......
We actively listen to our clients and their families — not just at the start, but throughout the journey. Whether it’s feedback after a visit, a change in routine, or something small that makes a big difference (like how someone takes their tea), we take it seriously and put it into action.
Your input helps shape the care we give, and that’s exactly how it should be.
Regulated and rated by the CQC
Nest Homecare is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in accordance with The Care Standards Act 2000. The CQC monitor, inspect and regulate UK health and care services to make sure they are meeting fundamental standards of quality, care and safety. They ensure that such services are Caring, Effective, Responsive and Well-led. We are rated "Good" in each of these key areas and you can view our CQC Report here.
Continuity of care
We possess a moral purpose to provide exceptional home care and we offer continuity of care as standard giving you total peace of mind. Continuity of care is one of our highest priorities when putting together a person-centred care package which is based around your wishes, preferences, needs, likes and dislikes.
Truly personalised care
We tailor every care plan around the individual — routines, preferences, and goals — ensuring dignified, one-to-one support that feels just right.
Peace of mind
Choosing care with Nest Homecare means peace of mind from day one.
Unlike hiring a Personal Assistant directly or through an introduction agency — where you're responsible for contracts, payroll, tax, insurance, and cover — we take care of it all for you:
Employment contracts and legal obligationsrus
National Insurance, tax and pension contributions
Ongoing training, supervision and compliance
Holiday and sickness cover, so there’s never a gap in care
Payroll and admin
That means you and your family can focus on what really matters — spending time together — while we handle everything behind the scenes.
Exceptional care that you can trust
We have a very rigorous recruitment process and are able to select the very best people to join our team. We support and motivate all our staff and ensure they are supported, happy and rewarded. Our Care Assistants are fully trained in the Care Certificate and also many additional courses. Some of our staff also hold Level 3 qualification (and above) in Health and Social Care, Dementia and End of Life Care.
Community-focused, independent company
Nest is run by local people who are driven by professionalism, attention to detail and who wish to put the "care" back into the care industry.
We are proud to be a part of the Windsor and Maidenhead community and we are extremely passionate about supporting the local community and helping people live well with dementia .
Focus on safety and falls prevention
Falls can be an issue for the elderly. Our staff are trained to spot early risks and support safe mobility at home — helping to reduce the likelihood of falls, hospital visits, and long-term harm.
We care
We care for our Clients AND our Care Assistants. This is a very unique philosophy and it shows in the quality of people we employ and in the person-centred home care we provide. We have a simple but effective method to ensure our standards are being kept to the highest they can be which is the "Nest Family Test" - if it's not good enough for them, then it's not good enough for you.
We take all the stress away
Unlike employing a Personal Assistant either directly or through an Introduction Agency, we manage everything for you (including Employment Contract, NI, Tax, Training, Holiday and Sick cover and pay). You and your family can relax, safe in the knowledge that everything is taken care of.
