What is Live-in Care?

Live-in care is when a dedicated Care Worker lives with their client so they are on-hand to meet their care needs. The Care Worker is directly employed through Nest Homecare so all employment checks, holidays, breaks, pay and criminal checks are done which means it is stress-free for the client.  

 

Live-in care is becoming increasingly popular as it enables a client to continue to live well within their own home where they are happy, safe and receiving one-to-one person-centred care. It also offers a solution to live independently within the community, and peace of mind to relatives. Clients love the fact that some-one who knows their precise needs and wishes is available - to bring a cup of tea in the morning, a hand getting bathed and dressed, help throughout the day including preparing and cooking of meals, and accompaniment to social activities and appointments. 

 

This option can be especially attractive to people who might find it difficult to adapt to change and where continuity, routine and familiar surroundings is reassuring and important. Safety is also key here especially to some-one who is living with dementia.
