Nine months worth of planning came together on Monday 5th March here at Nest Homecare when we were joined by the majority of members of the newly formed Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead Dementia Action Alliance (WAM DAA).
A DAA is an Alzheimer's Society initiative where towns and communities come together to connect, share best practice and take action on dementia. Everything a DAA does is in partnership, and informed by people living with dementia, and those that care for them.
We are delighted to lead the newly formed WAM DAA and would like to thank all the members who attended the meeting: - People to Places, RBWM, The Metro Bank Windsor, Care UK, Old Windsor Parish, Signal4Carers, The Royal Collections, Waitrose Windsor, Spencer Denny, Colostomy UK, Royal Fire & Rescue, RBWM Libraries and The Alzheimer's Society. A huge THANK YOU to all involved!
During our first meeting, we set out terms of reference and agreed to all undertake research to discover more information from the people within WAM who are living with dementia, and their Carers. We aim to pull all our findings together and set out the actions that we believe we can undertake....watch this space during Dementia Action Week (21-27 May).
